Our Vision
To be an exemplary Southern California congregation within Conservative Judaism by moving our members closer to G_d and by developing a meaningful Jewish way of life through commitment to Torah (study), Avodah (prayer), and Tikkun Olam (bettering our world).

Our Mission
The mission of the Etz Hadar Board of Directors is to plan and implement programs in these areas: religious services; Jewish education; and social and community activities by:

(1) Offering Shabbat, Festival and High Holy Day services that are meaningful, uplifting, creative and participatory.
(2) Providing excellent child and adult Jewish education, emphasizing Hebrew competence, prayer skills, familiarity with basic religious customs and Jewish ethics, bar/bat mitzvah preparations and other youth and adult activities.
(3) Fostering social activities that promote friendship among members and other Jews in our community that are enriching and entertaining while being mindful of our Judaism.
(4) Doing volunteer work on behalf of the Etz Hadar Family, the Jewish people and the greater community; helping to fulfill the Jewish customs and practices of our members; providing support for life-cycle events; offering tzedakah.
(5) Exploring and developing income sources for our congregation, including various forms of fund-raising activities.
(6) Building up our membership and increasing and improving our programs and services.
(7) Fostering teamwork and communication among our board members and committees.
